May Favourites!

Hello everybody!
So sorry for the lack of posts lately, I've been having major exams etc etc so decided that this blog would have to wait for a while :( However, I am back! With some lovely May favourites to share with you all.

1) The Body Shop Body Butter in Passion Fruit

I absolutely love this at the moment, because if you live in the UK you'll know that the weather recently has been a-mazing. I find that this body butter is great for before and after being in the sun, to moisturise as well as smell looovely! These body butter's aren't cheap but well worth the money - I never stick to one particular fragrance when I re-purchase, but I will always re-purchase the body butter!

2) Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Concentrated Cream
Again, for after tanning, I've been absolutely loving applying this. It has the scrumptious Cocoa Butter smell, and moisturises so well and basically leaves your skin feeling amazing. This body-butter esque product has so many different uses, from scars and stretch marks to after-tanning (picture below with their description of what it can do)...this truly is a wonder-product and one that I will definitely repurchase!

3) Bobbi Brown 'Beach' Perfume

This is my absolute favourite summer perfume. For me, Bobbi Brown has got this scent spot on - it smells exactly like all the lovely things in Summer and I always get complimented on it when I'm out and about which is lovely. The packaging is simple, like most of the Bobbi Brown range. but this doesn't make it any less special.

4) LUSH Bubblegum Lip Scrub

This has been raved and raved about on Beauty Blogs so I'm not going to go into it too much - but if you've never heard of this product - it's basically a sugary scrub that you put on your lips. This one tastes like bubblegum, and after using it you can just lick it off! Yum. At £5, this product actually does last longer that one may think - and I especially love it as due to my braces, I can't eat bubblegum - so this provides me with a bubblegum-like flavour in the evening! YumYum. I do actually, however, really recommend this product mainly on it's proven results - my lips are now smoother, more nourished and look much better when I wear product on them. Thumbs up all round!
5)  Laura Mercier Secret Concealer in '1'.

When I first bought this product - I'll admit - I was sceptical. It seemed way darker than my skin tone when I first opened it...but I've now discovered it's a bit like a creme brulee, it seems darker on the top, and then you break through it and there is a lovely, creamy product beneath which, in my case, was lighter and more suitable for my skintone. I apply this product with one of my Ecotools mini bamboo brushes and then blend it out with my fingers, and find this works well. I've found that the trick is to 'warm it up' a bit in the pot, so instead of just putting your brush in, make a few circles with it, to get the product really malleable (?)  and much easier to apply well.

Once you've done that, this concealer applies like a dream and looks very natural. I'd say that despite the 'secret' label, it does provide medium coverage - much more matte and higher coverage than say, the Touche Eclat, but doesn't crease under the eyes like my old Bobbi Brown concealer used to. Overall, I'd recommend this product - but more as an under-eye concealer than one to cover blemishes on the rest of the face.

5) ELF Colour Stick in 'Persimmon'

This was ordered earlier in the year when I did my first ever ELF purchase. This product has been one of my favourites for a while now - but I've been using it much more in the month of May. I use this on my cheeks and feel it acts as a highlighter and blush in one. This is because when it's in the light, it looks more like a highlighter (perhaps due to the marbled effect on the product, pictured above), but at other times it's a lovely pinky coral colour, so looks more like a blush.
Highlighter?

Or blush?
Overall I absolutely love this product, it was cheap so my expectations weren't too high, especially as I'd never used an ELF product before, but I absolutely love love love this colour and the way it glows so beautifully when it catches the light. I would recommend this to anyone!

Well girls (and boys?) that's the end of my favourites for this month...but never fear, I'll be back very soon with a haul and some skincare posts!
